Stub

Privacy policy

Last updated 26 October 2026

Stub helps friends pick something to watch together. This page explains, in plain language, what Stub stores about you, who else is involved, and how to get your data deleted. Stub doesn’t show ads, doesn’t sell your data and doesn’t use tracking cookies.

Who runs Stub

Stub is a small personal project run by Dominik Jessen. For anything about your data, email dominikjessencodes@gmail.com.

What Stub stores

Who can see it

Your profile is private. Only friends you’ve accepted can see your name, sticker colour, watchlist and ratings, and only the friend you plan a movie night with sees that night. Nothing on Stub is public.

Services Stub uses

Stub relies on these services to work. Each has its own privacy policy:

When you search for a title, Stub’s server sends your search words to TMDB; it doesn’t send who you are. Posters load straight from TMDB’s image servers, so TMDB sees your IP address, like any website you load images from.

Cookies and analytics

Stub sets one cookie: the login cookie that keeps you signed in. Vercel Web Analytics counts page views without third-party cookies; it recognises repeat visits with a hash made from the request instead.

How long it’s kept

Your account and everything you’ve added stay until you delete them. Sessions expire on their own, login links after 15 minutes, and request counts shortly after.

Your choices

You can change your name and sticker colour on your Account page. To see a copy of your data, correct it or delete your account and everything in it, email dominikjessencodes@gmail.com. Deleting your account right from the app is coming soon. If you live in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Credits

Movie and TV data and posters come from The Movie Database (TMDB).

Stub uses TMDB and the TMDB APIs but is not endorsed, certified, or otherwise approved by TMDB.

Changes

If Stub starts collecting or sharing something new, this page will say so and the date above will change.
